BetterLife Pharma Inc. was granted a patent by USPTO in 2025 on BETR-001. It’s currently in direct competition with medically supplied Psilocybin, LSD and Ibogaine.
BetterLife Pharma has a $100 Million USD worth of pre-funded warrants for this patent.

BetterLife announced in January 2022 that Nucro-Technics conducted their studies using beagle dogs. The study involved administering oral doses of BETR-001 to the dogs.
Then, in June 2023, BetterLife announced that a 28-day repeat-dose toxicology study in dogs had been completed at Nucro-Technics Inc.
Now in July 2026, BetterLife announced that, once again, they hired Nucro-Technics for the “last” toxicology study before rolling out the drug.
$2 million was raised specifically to complete the remaining studies. -
There’s no reliable reason to use animals for studies especially related to human neurological disorders. The main ongoing excuse used by pharmaceutical companies is simply to test the toxic component of the drug.
In other words, will this drug kill a living being or damage any of it’s organs and at what specific doses?
Even then, the true trial begins once the drug has rolled out for human consumption. At that point, it’s truly discovered whether human use is viable and, most importantly, lucrative in the long-term.
BetterLife Pharma has already secured control over BETR-001 and has exponential value to gain.

The real answer is humans. Yet BetterLife contracts Nucro-Technics to conduct it’s tests on dogs.
It’s difficult to call this “groundbreaking” human neurological research when a dog can never tell researchers what a migraine, headache, altered perception, or neurological side effect actually feels like to a human. Dogs and humans share biological similarities, but they are not interchangeable neurological models. And no animal study can establish whether a drug will actually be safe, effective, or beneficial in humans.
The question shouldn’t just be “Can we test this drug on a dog?” It should be: “What can testing this drug on a dog actually tell us about the human being who will ultimately take it?”
